160th Anniversary - The National Gallery Of Ireland

The National Gallery will be celebrating its 160th Anniversary by hosting a variety of different walks on talks on their archives, current exhibitions and more.

"Celebrate the Gallery’s anniversary by joining the Library and Archives team for a talk about the archival exhibit From the Archives 1913-1924.

Drawing from the Institutional archive, this display highlights the Directorships of Hugh Lane and Robert Langton Douglas and their valuable contribution to the development of the Gallery and the national art collections."

Chester Beatty – Drop-in Activity: Chinese Knot Challenge

Chester Beatty will be hosting a Chinese Knot Workshop we would also recommend hanging on and checking out all of Chester Beatty as it holds some of the most well-preserved manuscripts and scrolls from all over the world.

"In China, knots are considered a lucky charm, and traditionally they were used in clothing or jewellery to ward off evil spirits. Today, they are used to decorate homes during festivals."
