Why not kick off the New Year by experiencing some new activities in Dublin?

We've compiled a list of recommendations that anyone can enjoy, even if you're doing dry January!

David O'Doherty in Dublin tiny piano man performance at vicar street

David O'Doherty @ Vicar Street

Probably one of our favourite comedians is David O'Doherty and he's touring through Ireland in January! The legend himself is coming to a legendary venue in Dublin for 3 nights only.

"The dishevelled prince of €10 eBay keyboards tries to make you feel alive with a new pageant of laughter, song and occasionally getting up from a chair. It’s gonna be a big one. David O’Doherty is back at Vicar Street this Jan for 3 nights on Jan 4th-6th with his new stand-up show “Tiny Piano Man” Tickets are € 28."

performance the quare fellow by Brendan Behan in Dublin abbey theatre

The Quare Fellow @ The Abbey Theatre

Celebrating the works of Brendan Behan "The Quare Fellow" will be playing in the Abbey Theatre throughout January, rated 4* by The Irish Times & The Irish Examiner, we highly recommend checking it out!

"To the tune of ‘The Auld Triangle’, the play centres on the arrival of a condemned murderer to Mountjoy Prison, whose diverse inhabitants offer a darkly comic mirror to life outside its walls. In this exciting new production, the traditionally all-male cast will be played exclusively by female and non-binary actors. "

14 henrietta street walking tours

14 Henrietta Street

If there is something to tick off your list as an absolute essential to do in Dublin, it's 14 Henrietta Street. A favourite with our guides Henrietta Street brings the stories of Dublin alive by guiding you around one of Dublins' iconic Georgian houses portraying the lives of Dubliners for the last 300 years.

"In intimate group tours, we bring to life the stories of the humans who lived in the house, their changing circumstances, their experience of family life, of politics, and the impact of world affairs.

By listening and talking with visitors, historians, residents and their families and through the knowledge of others, the museum continues to discover new stories, gathering memories and adding to the museum’s collection and visitor experience."

Moore Street Market

Moore Street Market is Dublin's oldest market stretching back to the 18th century where the local fruit & veg sellers are a staple of Dublin's Inner City. However, over 2023 Dublin City Council has regenerated this market bringing in more local traders offering a huge range of homemade items as well as the usual fresh food sellers.

Moore Street Market is open every Friday & Saturday from 11am - 5pm. The Market also expands to events, live music and more local traders around the summer & winter holidays.
